LOCATION: Papua New Guinea
STORY: “For over a year, I watched this perfect specimen of a gorgonian sea fan fly by as strong currents carried me past. I knew I wanted to do something special with it, but just couldn’t hold still long enough. Finally, I caught a short slack tide, and was able to spend just a few minutes before being blown off yet again. I let the current push me towards the coral during a long exposure, and I think the resulting streaking is not only a beautiful artistic effect, but also shows the essence of its environment.” – Gug
