LOCATION: Lauderdale By The Sea, FL
STORY: Our little beach bubble here in Lauderdale by the Sea, FL has the best of both worlds: a small-town beach feel, but close by the bustling city of Fort Lauderdale. And our pier, also known as Anglin Pier, and LbtS Pier, has been an iconic landmark since 1963, connecting people with the ocean, building family memories, and serving as a geographic landmark to boats & planes.
This is the first time that I’ve released a second image of a pier, but this aerial perspective is so dramatically different than the first image that it feels right. Soaring high above the pier and looking into the sunset, this ultra-wide panoramic includes historic Fort Lauderdale Beach on the far left, and Pompano Pier and the Hillsboro Lighthouse at the far right, all with exquisitely sharp detail – so detailed in fact, that you can see all the individual windows in many buildings and make out cars in parking lots a quarter of a mile away. I created this image during the 2020 beach closures, so it just might be the only image that you’ll ever see of this beach completely devoid of people for miles!
